 Non metal oxides are called acidic oxides because when they dissolve in water they produce acids example:
CO2+ H2O → H2CO3 (When Carbon dioxide is dissolved in water, Carbonic acid is produced) As result non metal oxides are also called acidic anhydrides And another example of a non metal oxide is Sulphur dioxide Here is a video showing its formation
